Welcome to Moorside Primary School and Nursery — a friendly, nurturing and ambitious school at the heart of our community in Ripon.
At Moorside, we believe that every child is special and every child can achieve great things. We provide a safe, happy and inclusive environment where children feel valued, develop confidence and are encouraged to believe in themselves. Our ambition is for every child to discover their strengths, develop a love of learning and achieve their very best — because at Moorside, the sky is the limit!
We are incredibly proud of our children and the progress they make. In 2026, our children’s outcomes exceeded national averages, reflecting the high expectations, quality teaching, nurture and support that are at the heart of our school.
Learning at Moorside extends far beyond the classroom. Our curriculum provides enriching learning and extra-curricular opportunities for all, including Forest School and outdoor learning, sport and competitions, nurture, the arts, specialist visitors, educational visits and a wide range of clubs and activities. We want every child to have the opportunity to try something new, discover a talent, develop a passion and create wonderful memories.
We also offer Moorside Buddies wraparound care from 7.45am until 6.00pm, providing families with flexible, high-quality care in a warm and nurturing environment.
We know that children achieve their very best when home and school work together. Our welcoming and dedicated staff are committed to working in partnership with families, ensuring that every child feels supported, challenged and celebrated.
