School Admissions

All children are required by law to attend school from the start of the term following their fourth birthday. All of our new starters begin school in the September following their fourth birthday.

Admission applications are made to North Yorkshire County Council who then allocate places and advise school and parents in the April prior to starting school.

Further information including how to apply for school places can be found from the Council website. To access the website, please follow the link below or call the team directly on 01609 533679.

Anyone considering a place at Moorside Infant or Junior School is invited to come and have a look around.  Please call our school office to make an appointment on 01765 or e-mail us at:

In Key Stage 1, (years 1 and 2) we are limited to 30 children per class.

In Key Stage 2, (years 3, 4, 5 and 6) there is no limit to the number of children in a class, although 30 is still considered an advisable number.  Our Published Admission Number for each year group is 36.
