- 'Good' OFSTED REPORT 2017 - Moorside Junior School

About us

Moorside Infant & Nursery School and Moorside Junior School share the same site on the south side of the historical city of Ripon and serves the local community to the west of the Harrogate Road.

Both schools were built in the 1960s as two separate schools.  The grounds of both schools are extensive with mature trees, wildlife areas, forest school areas, an orchard, raised beds, three large playgrounds and two well-equipped fenced areas for our children in early years.

Our classes are arranged into single year groups, with one class per year from Reception to Year 6.  We have our own nursery taking children from the age of 3 and also offer wrap around care before and after school.

Since September 2016, the schools have been led by an Executive Headteacher.  This arrangement has ensured that the good practice in both schools is shared and children experience a consistent education throughout their time in our schools.

From September 2017, the school Governors will be the same for both schools, although the schools are not federated.
